The Healthy Living Centre (HLC) was established in Walton Court in 2000 with the specific remit of providing services and support to the local community, which is one of the most disadvantaged areas in the South East of England. The aim of the Centre is to improve the health and wellbeing of our community members by offering a wide range of services and activities appealing to different age groups and interests.
Every year the HLC receives approximately 20,000 visits from members of the local community who use our nursery, community café which is run in partnership with Pebble Brook School, access our wellbeing activities and attend different courses. The HLC also offers a modern, friendly space for the Bucks community and many other voluntary sector organisations to hire.
The HLC is both, a community hub focusing on supporting the local wards of Southcourt and Walton Court in Aylesbury and we are also committed with our outreach work on the wards of Oakridge & Castlefield in High Wycombe and Vale in Chesham. Our aim is to tackle health and wellbeing inequalities in areas of Buckinghamshire which rank amongst the 30% most disadvantaged in the England.
